Miguel Angel Ríos' 2012 video, The Ghost of Modernity, Lixiviados is part of this year's Nuit Blanche Toronto. Facing the Sky, an art project curated by Louise Déry will display the film just of the shore of Lake Ontario in West Habor Square Park. The stark juxtaposition of the location of the event and the context of the film highlights a world of contrast for the viewers—darkness and daylight; North and South, rich and poor.
This year marks the eleventh anniversary of Nuit Blanche, Toronto. Every year, for one night—sunset to sunrise—the city of Toronto is transformed into a free artistic plaground open for all to explore and celebrate contemporary art.
