From the publisher:
We know Carlos Cruz-Diez, the thinker of color whose work changed the perception
of the chromatical phenomenon in art. Nevertheless, we know very little about the man.
Vivir en arte is an intimate first-person narration, full of humor, in which Carlos Cruz-Diez
revives memories from childhood and youth in the Caracas of the 30’s and 40’s till nowadays: his first adventures, his first loves, his studies at the Caracas School of Fine Arts, his Parisian life experiences, as well as some foundational episodes of the kinetic art movement.
This book discloses a character of multiple aspects that converge into the motto that has
guided him: “Art and life cannot be separated because they are one and the same thing.”
