Press Release

Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino is delighted to present an exhibition of recent work by gallery artists Maria Fernanda Cardoso (b. 1963, Colombia/Australia), Gustavo Díaz (b. 1969, Argentina/USA), Clemencia Echeverri (b. 1950, Colombia), Magdalena Fernández (b. 1964, Venezuela), Thomas Glassford (b. 1963, Texas/Mexico), and Ana Maria Tavares (b. 1958, Brazil). Three of the artists, Maria Fernanda Cardoso, Gustavo Díaz, and Magdalena Fernández, merge discrete aspects of art, mathematics, and science using 3D imaging, drawing, photography, and sculpture. Thomas Glassford incorporates natural materials, such as gourds, into his assemblages to explore intersections between community, nature, and design while Clemencia Echeverri and Ana Maria Tavares investigate society and the effects of pollution and warfare. Together these six artists present unique interpretations of the natural world through the lenses of architecture, design, mathematics, science, and society
